Food Safety Supervisor training for your business
Keep your venue compliant and your customers safe. Get your team nationally recognised as Food Safety Supervisors — 100% online, $99 per person, with certificates within one business day.
It’s the law. Under Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A, most Australian food businesses must have at least one trained Food Safety Supervisor who is reasonably available. Keeping staff certified is the simplest way to stay compliant.

How many staff should you train?
The law requires at least one Food Safety Supervisor who is reasonably available to your food handlers. But one trained person can be on leave, off-shift, or move to another job — and the qualification goes with them. That’s why most well-run venues keep more than one certified supervisor across the roster, so there’s always someone qualified on site.
It’s inexpensive insurance: at $99 a person, training a manager plus a shift lead or two keeps you covered through holidays, sick days and staff turnover — and keeps you ready for an inspection at any time.

Food Safety Supervisor for Business — FAQs
How many of my staff need to be a Food Safety Supervisor?
Under Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A, most food businesses must have at least one trained Food Safety Supervisor who is reasonably available. In practice, with rosters and staff turnover, many owners train more than one person — for example the owner plus a duty manager — so a qualified supervisor is always on site.
Can I enrol multiple staff at once?
Yes. Each person can enrol online individually for $99, or contact our team and we’ll help you arrange several staff together and answer any compliance questions.
The certificate stays with the employee — is that a problem?
The qualification is portable and stays with the individual, which is normal for nationally recognised training. That’s why many businesses keep more than one trained supervisor on the team, so you’re covered when someone moves on.
We operate in NSW — what’s different?
NSW requires a separate NSW Food Safety Supervisor certificate as well as the national units. Melbourne Tech Institute is an approved NSW provider, so we can add it (+$30). For renewals, see NSW recertification.
Do you also deliver other workplace qualifications?
Yes — beyond Food Safety Supervisor, we deliver nationally recognised laboratory and other training on-site. See workplace training for employers.
